Assemblies
Brantford Christian School holds weekly assemblies and worship services throughout the school year, open to parents, friends, and community members. These gatherings foster a strong sense of community. We are blessed to have pastors from the over 30 churches represented at BCS share messages, and our worship is led by talented community volunteers
Responsive Classroom
Our teaching faculty are becoming trained in Responsive Classroom, which is a student-centred, social and emotional learning approach to teaching and discipline. Using evidence-based practices, this approach helps to create safe, joyful and engaging classrooms and school communities for both students and teachers. Currently, the whole school incorporates some Responsive Classroom practices, such as morning meetings, quiet time and closing circles as a part of our daily routines.
Community Connections
To cultivate a strong sense of community and promote essential social-emotional growth, our school offers the “Community Connections” program every Wednesday from 2:30 to 3:30. During this time, students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 participate in collaborative outdoor education activities expertly facilitated by our Physical Education Specialist and supported by our Education Assistants. Our Grade 8 students take on valuable leadership roles, guiding their mixed-age groups in team-building exercises. Concurrently, our classroom teachers dedicate this time to professional development, ensuring our entire staff remains at the forefront of educational best practices to benefit all students.
