Welcome! If you are considering Brantford Christian School for your child, you have already made a great start. We can’t wait to have you be part of our wonderful school community.
Enrolment at BCS is open to:
- Children of Christian parents who have a church home
- Children whose needs we can meet
- International students living with at least one of their parents or in an approved homestay and have a student visa (if required by Immigration Canada)
A child must be four years old in the calendar year in which he/she begins JK and five years old in the calendar year in which he/she begins SK.
No child shall be denied enrolment on the grounds of ethnicity, sex, colour or national origin.
Here are the steps to register at BCS:
1. Take the tour
Book a Tour and a meeting with our Principal. Come in for a tour of our facilities and see the amazing learning spaces we provide for our students. Follow that up with a meeting with our Principal to learn more about BCS and its programs and how your child would flourish in our safe, caring and nurturing environment.
During the meeting you will be asked to share about your interest in Christian education at BCS, your child’s academic background/developmental history, and what you believe your child would require to be successful in school. We strongly suggest that you come during a school day so that you can see our staff and students in action.
2. Apply
Following the meeting you will be given a registration package. The package contains more information about BCS and registration forms. The registration forms include an application form, a membership application form, a pastor’s recommendation form, and form with a few questions to be answered by the applying family.
In addition to the completed forms, registration requires payment of the $300 membership which can be done by cheque, e-transfer, or debit in the office. A copy of the child’s birth certificate and copies of three most recent report cards (if child has attended school previously) are also required to fulfill the requirements for registration.
3. Visit the teacher
Before a final decision on registration can be made, a visit will be set-up so that each child to be registered can visit the school and meet the Principal, the teachers, and if required, one of the Special Education Resource teachers.
4. Decision
A decision will be made by the members of the Admission Committee on the application based on the Admissions policy at BCS and then the decision will be communicated to the family.
If accepted, an invoice for tuition will be sent out before the end of June. In addition, if possible a classroom visit will be arranged for each new student so that they have the opportunity to meet their new classmates for a school day or part of one.
