Our valley is one of our favourite places at BCS. Our students get to have the spectacular experience of exploring and playing in the woods every day!

From fort building to bug watching, there is always so much fun happening in our beloved valley!

There are so many incredible things happening at BCS every day! Here's a glimpse of just a few of the amazing stories our students are creating.⁠

From participating in the Student Leadership Program to securing second place in our regional soccer tournament, our students are growing and developing in amazing ways. A group of boys touched our hearts by creating a beautiful memorial for a schoolmate. Our reading buddies program is fostering a love of reading and cross-grade relationships among our youngest students. Pioneer Camp was filled with adventure, from campfires and ax throwing and so much more. Our students have loved exploring our valley at recess and as a part of their learning. Our communal worship services provide a space for students to connect with God and each other.⁠

Through these and many other opportunities last month, our students are becoming more of who God created them to be!

As a school, we participate in Orange Shirt Day with a posture of remembrance. We believe that school should be a place where the whole child flourishes - where they feel safe, know they are loved, and where they are encouraged to grow into the calling that God has placed on their life. ⁠

Our Gr. 8 students had the opportunity to receive some Leadership Training with Mr. S. last week! We are excited to see how they will flourish as leaders of our colour houses this year. ⁠

At BCS we believe that student leadership is more than just a title we give to students; it's a catalyst for personal growth and positive change.⁠

By taking on leadership roles, our students develop essential skills like communication, problem-solving, and teamwork. These skills not only prepare them for future academic and professional success but also empower them to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

At BCS each of our classes has a storyline, a way that will intentionally connect and draw our students into God's Story. This storyline is the string that ties all the learning and the learning experiences together and helps our students see their calling as active participants in the restoration act. ⁠

This year our Gr. 1&2 students are 'Wonder Full Explorers!'⁠
⁠
This group of teachers and students will explore the creation full of wonder as they seek to learn more about God as a wonderful creator. They also will be participating in real work that meets the real needs of real people as an outpouring of Jesus' love for them - filling them "full" so they can love others! ⁠

We're excited to see what these 'Wonder Full Explorers' will learn and do this year!

During the Discover portion, our homeroom teachers will guide you through "A School Day in the Life of Your Child." You will gain insights into our new classroom pod model, intentional community building amongst homerooms and chronological-aged peers, our new Walk to Learn program, and more about the exciting cross-curricular FLEx projects that foster collaboration and help our students live their part in God’s story. ⁠
