The school calendar is constructed annually by the school administration with input from:
- The recommendations of the Ontario Alliance of Christian School (OACS)
- The Members of the BCS Board of Directors
- The Members of the BCS Staff
The school calendar is also constructed with consideration given to the school calendar of Hamilton District Christian High School (HDCH) and to the calendars of the Grand Erie District School Board (GEDSB) and Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB).
The school calendar allows for a minimum of 1000 instructional hours as recommended by the OACS.
It will also allow for a minimum of 6 professional development/activity days which include the Christian Educators Convention in October, report card writing days and a District Professional Development Day. Every attempt will be made to have the days coincide with the professional development/activity days of HDCH and/or GEDSB or BHNCDSB.
The school calendar allows for a minimum of 1000 instructional hours as recommended by the OACS.
The school calendar normally allows for two weeks of holidays during Christmas Break and a week of holidays for March Break.
The school calendar is sent out on the first day of school and also posted on the school website.
Dates and events on the calendar are subject to change during the course of the school year but all changes will be communicated in a timely fashion and will be communicated as effectively as possible.
